We've been advising clients about their insurance needs and/or employee benefit plans since 1911. Our management team includes second- and third-generation family members. We know insurance. We listen to you, understand your wants and desires, and commit to serve you well. Ed Gerner, J.D., CLU, President of R.K.Tongue Co., has been licensed and active in the business since 1966. As a second generation principal of R.K. Tongue Co., he brings vast experience, a culture of caring, and the perspectives of both an insurance professional and a lawyer to the business.
Tim Girard and Andrew Gerner, Ed’s son-in-law and son, bring youthful vigor, maturity and a surprising breadth of insurance knowledge to the business. Tim holds a business degree from Loyola College, while Andrew holds a business degree from St. Mary’s College of Maryland.
Barbara Walters, M.A.S., is Vice President of Administration. With us since 1977, she brings both administrative and sales skills to the team, coupled with extensive experience and knowledge of the industry.
Clem Ehoff, CPA, Ph.D., Tongue’s CFO, contributes strong accounting, business administration, systems and financial skills. Since joining us in 1998, his business perspective and clarity of vision have been invaluable contributions to the team.
Paul Hill, Jr., Vice President, active at Tongue since 1982, brings a wealth of insurance experience, systems expertise and knowledge of the federal marketplace to the R.K.Tongue team.
Kathy Goeller Shahinian M.A. holds an advanced degree in Human Resources. A former union organizer and legislative liaison, she brings energy and a unique perspective to Sales Management of our Worksite Marketing unit.
