R.K.Tongue Co. has been MCEA's insurance broker and administrator since 1938. This long and wonderful relationship between MCEA and Tongue is characterized by trust, loyalty and mutual respect.
But what does that mean for you as a member?
It means that, with the advice of the MCEA Insurance & Benefits Trust (the Trustees are all MCEA members), we search the market diligently to find plans that work to fulfill the needs of public employees who are MCEA members. It means that we often negotiate underwriting concessions for you (underwriting concessions involve either simplifying the issue of your policy by not requiring physical examination, but only requiring answers to basic health questions, or by providing guaranteed issue or some form of qualified guaranteed issue). It means that we sometimes procure association discounted premiums for you. But most importantly, it means that we collect your premiums by payroll deduction, making it much easier for you to pay that premium than by having to write a relatively large check.
It also means that our agents see you at your worksite, so that you are not disturbed at home, unless you want to be.
It means that we support MCEA's activities by attending the Annual Convention, Area Meetings, the Statewide Advisory meeting, Retiree Chapter meetings, etc.
It means that we are part of the MCEA family!
